Want your game reviewed?

Want to work with us to have your game given a Shelfside Review?

Here at Shelfside we give every game a fair shake when making a review. After playing multiple times, a review will include:

  1. A high-quality review video on the channel, filled with our holistic honest analysis in Pros, Cons, a Recommender Score, and our Personal Scores. A quick how to play and, if applicable, game background (e.g. Tainted Grail’s universe) with be included. Highly edited footage of components are used, inserting in plenty of specific pictures of components. Reviews also feature cinematic introductions and sketches.

  2. A written review published on this website, complete with photos, a brief how to play, summarized analysis, and our scores. This review will also be reformatted and posted to BoardGameGeek.com.

  3. Constant communication from us regarding rules clarifications, scheduling, and specific parts that may need to be stressed in the review.

  4. Consulting on ways to improve the game via our Cons.

Shelfside by the Numbers

Our channel usually posts just one video a week, meaning your review will be featured for at least a week as our most recent upload, and will continue to linger near the top of our channel even after multiple weeks! Just taking a look at our Tainted Grail: Kings of Ruin Review as an example, you can see that it has more views than many other channels, even larger ones!

But when it comes to marketing your game, views aren’t everything! YouTube impressions matter a lot just for getting your game’s name out there! What’s an impression? Simply put, it’s how many people see a video show up in their feed, regardless if they actually clicked it for a view. Whether it’s from subscription feeds, YouTube search, or recommended videos, that’s a lot of eyeballs, so take a look at some of our paid review impressions (They keep growing! This is of December 2023):
